KARACHI: Two killed in different incidents

KARACHI, July 26: Two persons were shot dead in different parts of the city on Tuesday. A restaurant owner was shot dead by unknown persons in Patel Para on Tuesday.

Police said that Abdul Rehman, owner of Hasan Zai Hotel, was passing through Gurumandir when unknown persons in a car pulled up and shot at him. Abdul Rehman suffered a single bullet in the chest. He died on way to the Civil Hospital, police said.

Police suspected that the killing was an outcome of some personal enmity. Investigation was being carried out in the case, police said.

In Lyari, a young man was shot dead by armed men in the jurisdiction of Baghdadi police station.

Police said that Husain Chilli, wanted in several criminal cases, was shot at by unknown persons. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

ACCIDENTS: Two pedestrians died in road accidents on Tuesday.

Police said that a pedestrian, Noor Alam, 30, was crossing the main road in Korangi when 17-H route bus knocked him down. He was taken to the JPMC, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police claimed to have arrested the errant driver and impounded the bus.

In Bahadrabad, a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday.
