KARACHI, July 26: The Commissioner, Sindh Employees Social Security Institution, Asif Margoob Siddiqui, has urged the institution’s field directors to widen the social security scheme.

Presiding over monthly review meeting, he called for the institution’s improved working with observance of punctuality and paying full attention to solving the problems of secured workers.

He reiterated the directive of Labour Minister Adil Siddiqui to bring more establishments under cover of social security scheme.

Earlier, the commissioner was informed that Sessi had disbursed Rs2.462 million as cash benefits among secured workers and their dependants in June.

The total disbursement included Rs0.673m paid as sickness benefits, Rs1.227m as disablement pension/gratuity, Rs0.124m as survivors’ pension, Rs0.374m as injury benefits, Rs41,000 as maternity benefit, Rs12,000 as iddat, and Rs11,000 as ex-gratia. — APP
