KARACHI, July 26: The development of Gutter Baghicha into a big park was reviewed at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman here on Tuesday.

It was decided that the city government would expedite the work on the construction of park on 163 acres of land and ensure its completion in six months.

It was also decided that the city government would take immediate steps to check encroachments and also pursue an effective strategy for the removal of existing encroachments through its demolition squads.

The chief secretary said that being a Karachiite it was his old desire that the Gutter Baghicha was developed into a beautiful park to provide a healthy environment to the people.

He would visit the site along with Additional Chief Secretary Mohammed Saleem Khan in a couple of days and inspect the development works, Mr Rehman said.

The chief secretary asked the concerned city government officials to ensure the completion of work with great devotion. — APP
