SUKKUR, July 25: Flash flood has safely passed from Guddu Barrage on the night between Sunday and Monday where the up-stream discharge was recorded 548,000 cusecs. The flow at 6am and 12 noon on Monday remained constant at the Guddu Barrage, and the maximum discharge was recorded 525,282 cusecs up-stream and 493,005 cusecs down-stream.
Meanwhile, water flow at the Sukkur Barrage had increased from Sunday night and at 6am and 12 noon the up-stream discharge was recorded 508.427 cusecs and 447,407 cusecs down-stream. The up-stream discharge at mid-day on Sunday was recorded 486,755 cusecs and 425,480 cusecs at down-stream. An addition of some 22,000 cusecs was recorded at Sukkur Barrage during the past 24 hours, and it was a high flood situation, according to a spokesman of the irrigation department. The discharge level at Guddu Barrage had gone down by 23,000 cusecs, while at Sukkur it may start decreasing by Tuesday evening.—APP
