Murder accused remanded in police custody

SUKKUR, July 25: An inquiry about involvement of four policemen in providing shelter to killers of eight people near Deh Ghagro has been completed and submitted to the RPO and the DPO.

Sources at the C-section police station said police on Monday presented the six accused involved in the killing of eight Shambhanis in the Anti-Terrorism Court-II, Sukkur, which remanded them in police custody for five days. The accused are: Rafiq Ahmad, Umeed Ali, Ghaus Bux, Dost Mohammad, Saleem and Shamsuddin.

Rohri TPO Ali Mohammad Mahar, the inquiry officer of the case, told journalists that he had recorded statements of policemen concerned and had submitted the report to the RPO and the DPO who would take further action in the matter.

KARO-KARI: A woman, Wilayatan, was shot dead allegedly by her husband, Allah Dino Jatoi, while she was asleep in her house in the Ganj Ali Jatoi village near Bagarji, Sukkur, on Sunday night. Police claimed that the reason behind the murder was karo-kari. They registered an FIR against the accused.
