KARACHI, July 25: Young Taha Band-e-Ali overcame a battling Sharukh Saleem 6-3, 6-7, 6-0 in a marathon three-hour encounter of the under-11 singles in 15th Talent Hunt Sindh ranking tennis tournament on Monday at City Sports Complex.
After winning the first set easily, Taha was stunned by Sharukh in the second set, but he regained his composure in the third and final set to advance to the next round.
Khawaja Hamza showed his class in overwhelming Rodain Faisal without dropping a point 6-0, 6-0 in quick time.
Sheryar Ahmed was taken to three sets by Hassan Rajab in another under-11 clash that produced some long rallies. Sheryar won the first, lost the second but regained his form to clinch the decider to emerge worthy winner.
