DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 25: The incidents of kidnap for ransom have increased in the four districts of the Dera police range as 220 cases have been reported in the last six months with the high profile case of three PARCO men yet to be solved.

The kidnappers of PARCO men have demanded Rs500,000 for their release but neither police nor PARCO authorities are taking the matter seriously.

The relatives of the kidnapped men are feeling helpless in this regard and appealed to the president, the prime minister and other high-ups to take immediate action against the kidnappers for the release of their dear ones.

They have informed police that they have been receiving phone calls from the kidnappers but police have done nothing.

Police sources claimed that the kidnapped PARCO men and other captives were in the Baikar area of Balochistan. They said that 27 people were in the custody of kidnappers.

PARCO officials Akram, Saeed and Ehsan were kidnapped along with their patrol wagon more than four weeks ago.

The kidnappers are not ready to give back the wagon equipped with sensitive systems.

Later, Sajjad Dhole from Drama police station and Haider from the limits of Kot Chutta police were kidnapped by the Bosan gang.

In the Dera Ghazi Khan police range, 70 incidents of dacoity, 78 of highway robbery, 379 of burglary, 495 of cattle theft, 109 of motorcycle and other vehicles snatching, and 911 of theft have been reported in the last months.

HIGHWAYMEN: Nearly two dozen unidentified armed highwaymen tried to block the Indus Highway at Gadda Nar near Rojhan by opening indiscriminate fire on vehicles. A truck driver was critically wounded in the fire.

When police reached the spot, the outlaws managed their escape.

Rajanpur DPO Maqsoodul Hassan said police teams were chasing the fleeing culprits along the Indus Highway. He described the condition of the driver as very serious.
