Rights must be respected, says Brazilian FM

LONDON, July 25: Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim said Monday that the fight against terrorism must respect human rights after holding talks in Britain about the killing of the innocent Brazilian by anti-terror police. Speaking at a joint press conference with British counterpart Jack Straw, Amorim said that Brazil “understands the plight” faced by Britain. However, he also stressed that “combating terrorism has to be done with full respect of human rights”, adding that terrorists would benefit if it did not.—AFP
