ISLAMABAD, July 25: The government has abolished the inquiry wing of the Central Board of Revenue head office and its sub-offices as part of the restructuring of the tax administration.
An official told Dawn on Monday that the decision was taken during a board-in-council meeting headed by CBR Chairman M. Abdullah Yousuf recently.
According to the decision, the inquiry wing of Central Board of Revenue Islamabad office and its sub-offices at Karachi and Lahore had been abolished as per reform process.
The official said that position and budget of these offices would be adjusted at the Central Board of Revenue headquarters and the current working offices and staff would be adjusted in the field formations.
