FAISALABAD, July 24: Five members of a family were gunned down on Saturday night while three women sustained injuries over an old enmity at Chak no. 274-GB in Satiana police limits, about 35km away from here.
Reports said Awan and Abbas groups had an old enmity. On Saturday night, Awan group members — Mumtaz, Riaz, Zulfiqar, Liaquat Ali, Yousaf, Suleman, Ashraf and others — wearing police uniforms allegedly forced their entry into the house of Ghulam Abbas. On identifying the accused, the family members raised an alarm on which the alleged outlaws opened fire.
As a result of which, Ghulam Abbas (60), his wife Parveen (45), son Ahmed Sher (22) and two close relatives, Zahida Bibi (20) and Abida Bibi (25), were killed on the spot. Abbas’ other family members Sabira (25), Khalida (20) and Asia (18) sustained serious injuries.
The injured were rushed to the hospital.
