PPP condemns recent transfers

KHAIRPUR, July 24: A meeting of the district board of the People’s Party Parliamentarian was held at the Wassan house here on Sunday. PPP Sindh President Syed Qaim Ali Shah, MNA Manzoor Wassan, MNA Fazal Shah Jilani, MPA Naeem Kharal, MPA Nawab Wassan, former district nazim Nafisa Shah, Sajid Bhambhan and Abdul Qadir Shah Jilani, the Pir of Ranipur, attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Wassan said official machinery was being used by the coalition partners for the local body election and transfers and postings were being made in the interest of government candidates.

He said Awam Dost Panel candidates for union council seats were being forced to change their loyalties.

They were also being threatened of registration of false cases of irrigation water.

The meeting condemned such acts and decided to lodge complaints with the chief election commissioner.

The board directed ADP candidates to file their nomination forms.

However, the board will officially declare the names of candidates later.

SUICIDE: Two youths committed suicide in two different incidents in the district on Saturday evening.

Irshad, 22, son of Rasheed Memon, committed suicide by laying himself in front of Shah Rukn-e-Alam Express at Thehri railway crossing.

The body was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.

One Fateh Mohammad Khaskheli consumed poison in Khaskheli village, Kotdiji taluka.

Unemployment was said to be the motive behind the two suicide incidents.
