KARACHI, July 24: The residents of Clifton’s Block-7 have expressed concern over constant sewage overflow near the Farooq-i-Azam mosque opposite Boating Basin.

The problem had been persisting for the last two months, they said, adding that faithful and area residents suffered from the stench arising from the sewage.

“It has been resulting in the growth of mosquitoes, insects, and people can fall prey to diseases,” said Begum Ansari, a septuagenarian.

She said the sewage overflow had been continuing since the nearby roads were dug up for laying of sewerage lines.

Moreover, apartment dwellers living in Jesson Luxury Condominium, and Jesson Paradise demanded the authorities to drain out water so that they could be saved from water contamination or from falling sick due to environmental pollution.

Residents of the area have urged the authorities to drain out the gutter water.
