NEW DELHI, July 23: Indus Water Commissioner Syed Jamaat Ali Shah said on Saturday that a five-member experts’ delegation from Pakistan would inspect the Baglihar power project site, powerhouse and reservoir in occupied Kashmir.
The delegation, which arrived here on Saturday on a week-long visit, will leave for Jammu on Sunday for the inspection of the project being constructed by India on Chenab River.
Pakistan has voiced objections over the project, billing it in violation of the provisions of the Indus Water Treaty.
The delegation led by Mr Shah includes senior experts and engineers from various departments concerned.
Mr shah said the delegation would tour Roorki in Uttar Pradesh on July 27 to study various aspects of the project model extensively.
The visit is part of preparation for inspection by World Bank neutral expert Raymond Lafitte of the project in October.
