Ijaz, ranked 11th, dumped fifth seed and much experienced Aamir Islam 15-10, 15-12. Ijaz dominated the proceeding and hardly allowed Ijaz to dictate terms with his powerful smashes and drop shots.
Aamir tried to bounce back in the second and fought till 10-all before Ijaz completed the win to book a place in the semifinals. Top seed Wajid Ali went to full distance before beating Atiq Chaudhry 15-9, 7-15, 15-1 to make last four.
