Justice Saad Saood Jan passes away


ISLAMABAD, July 21: Saad Saood Jan, former judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, passed away in Lahore after protracted illness. He had been suffering from diabetes and was admitted to hospital where his conditions began to deteriorate a few days ago and he breathed his last on Thursday morning. In a condolence message to the widow of the judge, Chief Justice of the Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry expressed shock and sorrow.

He appreciated the distinguished career and the services rendered to the nation by Justice Jan in his capacity as a judge of high court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The chief justice and the other judges of the apex court attended his funeral at Lahore. The chief justice of Pakistan also laid a floral wreath on the grave of Justice Jan.—APP
