KARACHI, July 20: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy remained on higher side at 78 per cent as seven vessels, Tern, Santa Fabolia, Sealand Mariner, Isokaze, Bow Petros, Nolowati and Nemea, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, chemicals and iron ore.

Cargo handling activity was brisk at the port where a total tonnage of 80,468 tons comprising 58,742 tons of import cargo and 21,726 tons of export tonnage was handled.
