NAIROBI, July 20: Prices for Kenyan tea generally improved at this week’s auction on strong demand, traders said on Wednesday. Mombassa-based Africa Tea Brokers said Brighter Best Pekoe Ones fetched $1.82-$2.71 per kg compared with $1.77-$2.40 at the last auction.
Best Pekoe Fannings Ones sold at $1.68-$1.89 compared with the last auction’s $1.61-$2.25.
Out of the total 106,769 packages offered, 6,360 were unsold compared with 8,311 unsold last week. Last week 109,014 packages were offered.—Reuters
