ISLAMABAD, July 19: A six-member Pakistan squad, including an official, left here for Montreal (Canada) on Tuesday to participate in the Fina world swimming championship.
The squad, which flew to Karachi on its way to Montreal, included two boys and three girls besides Veena Masood who has been designated as ladies manager.
The secretary of Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF), Maj. Majid Wasim, is already in Montreal where he attended the World Swimming Federation (Fina) congress held on Sunday last. He will join the squad as overall manager.
Imdad Ali and Muhammad Aziz will represent Pakistan in the men’s competitions while Kiran Khan, Rubab Raza and Sana Wahid will make the splash in the ladies events.
Imdad will be in the fray for 50, 100 and 200 metres back-stroke events while Aziz will feature in the 50, 100 and 200 metres breaststroke.
The girls will compete in free-style and breaststroke events.
