ISLAMABAD, July 19: Information Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Siddiqul Farooque has alleged that the station commander of Peshawar occupied 80-kanal land of PML-N leaders, Raja Waheed and Nasir Mehfooz, in Murree. He further alleged that the PML-N leaders had been implicated in false cases when they raised the issue in the court.
Speaking at a news conference here on Tuesday, the PML-N information secretary said such elements in Pakistan Army were damaging the good name of the institution. He said when generals removed democratically-elected government by use of force then it was obvious that junior officers would also indulge in misuse of powers.
He said the PML-N had taken the matter to the court and it would continue to lodge its protest against land mafia.
Mr Farooque said if such elements were not stopped from their illegal activities, then there could be the possibility of a civil war.
