Snooker camp begins

KARACHI, July 18: A short training camp for snooker team who will participate in the Asian championship got under way at Karachi Club Billiards Hall on Monday. Former world and Asian champion Muhammad Yousuf and former world championship runner-up, Saleh Muhammad are among the team members attending the camp. Shahnawaz Khan who is also manager designate of the team is camp commandant.

The camp will conclude on Friday and the team will fly to Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday to play the 21-nation event which opens on July 24.

Shahnawaz said Pakistan’s No3 Naveen Perwani who was scheduled to take part in the camp had regretted that he would be unable to attend it because of some commitments made earlier. Pakistan’s No5 Atiq Latif Bakhsh will take his place to provide practice and warm-up games to the two cueists.—APP
