Shahzad shines

LAHORE, July 18: Fine batting by Shahzad Khan helped Peshawar beat Lahore by two runs in a low-scoring match of the PCB Inter-region school cricket tournament at Model Town ground the other day. Shahzad made a useful contribution of 43 runs off 39 balls in Peshawar’s low total of 116 all out in 19.3 overs.

Leg-spinner Asif Ghafoor snared three wickets for 13 runs in 3.3 overs.

In reply, Lahore Region, despite a fighting knock by Irfan Zaman (40, four fours, one six, 37 balls), could collect 114 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Three batsmen were run out.
