KARACHI, July 18: The Sindh Adviser on Environment, Mohammad Noman Saigol, directed the KWSB authorities to develop a foolproof mechanism for equitable water distribution to all parts of Karachi. Talking to different groups of citizens at his office here on Monday, he took serious notice of the complaint made by the residents of Baldia Town, denied of potable water for quite sometime.

The concerned citizens informed Mr Saigol that no consideration had been extended towards the provision for regular water supply through pipelines to their area by the concerned authorities for the last four to five years.

According to them no significant development work was as such initiated in the Baldia Town consequently heaps of garbage could be seen at almost every nook and corner of their locality.

They also said that the water supply had been restored during last few days by the concerned department, however, cleanliness and hygienic condition was yet to be addressed.

Responding to their reports, the adviser said the “Haq Parast” members of the MQM took personal interest to ensure that people were provided the basic needs of life.

The adviser further mentioned that measures were also underway to get completed a 200 bed hospital in the Baldia Town, while efforts were being made for the approval of a boys college in the same area.—APP
