KARACHI, July 18: The Jica Alumni Association of Pakistan (JAAP), Sindh Chapter arranged a programme the other day to educate its members and their families about healthcare. The family day programme was held at the National Institute of Child Health, which, among others, was attended by the Japanese consul-general Shoichi Nakano, who was the chief guest. The participants were also informed about different diseases and were urged to apply Hepatitis B vaccination to family members as well.

The chief guest, Mr Nakano, in his speech congratulated the organizers for holding such a programme and suggested that similar events should be organized on a regular basis.

Dr S. Jamal Raza, Associate Professor of Paediatrics, and Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Jan, convener of JAAP and Head of Paediatric surgery NICH, spoke on the occasion and gave an introduction of JAAP Sindh Chapter and about the medical activities at the NICH.

Hepatitis B vaccination of the families and their children were also performed during the day. JAAP is the association of government employees and staff of the autonomous organization of the country who visited Japan for training programmes sponsored by the Japan International Co-operation Agency.
