Mardan Sports Complex gets Rs20m

MARDAN, July 17: The chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Gen Ihsanul Haque, announced Rs20 million for Mardan Sports Complex and Rs100,000 each for hockey, cricket and football federations on Sunday.

Gen Ihsan, who belongs to Hoti (Mardan), visited the district on an invitation extended to him by chairman District Cricket Association (DCA) Dr Tariq Mehmood Inayat.

Dr Tariq said that Gen Ihsan also helped in getting Federal Sports Board release Rs10.5m it had sanctioned for the complex some five years back.

The complex had received Rs2.5m as first instalment and the remainder would be released within a month.
