CHITTAGONG, July 17: Three people died and four others were seriously injured on Sunday when a shell which had been sold off as scrap metal exploded at a dealer’s workshop in south eastern Bangladesh, police said.
“The scrap dealer died on the spot and two workers died on their way to hospital,” police spokesman Mohammed Kibria told AFP.
The explosion happened at Hathazari close to the south eastern port city of Chittagong after workers tried to break open the shell, unaware that it contained explosives, he said.
