79 health employees terminated

DADU, July 16: The EDO, health, Dr Dhani Bux Thebo, on Saturday terminated 72 woman health workers and seven supervisors. The employees were fired after a team of the National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Healthcare raided different health centres, basic health units and dispensaries and found them absent from their duty. The team was led by programme coordinator Dr Zahid Larik.

Meanwhile, terminated health workers Shabana Leghari, Azeema Hakeem, Sanam Lal Bux, Naheed Nazir, Gori Qamaruddin, Nargis Akbar, Rahila, Malka Waris and Zahida Lal Bux complained that they were terminated without any show-cause notice.

SUICIDE: Eighteen-year-old Talib Mangrio committed suicide by taking pesticide over some domestic problem in the Khat Lashkar village on Saturday.

DROWNED: Amina, 10, daughter of Sharifuddin Lakhair, drowned in a well while trying to fill a bottle of water on Saturday.

Her grandmother, Subhan Khatoon, also died of grief after receiving the news.
