Altaf calls for people’s rights

KARACHI, July 16: Chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain has demanded equal rights for people in the country without any discrimination of religion, sect or culture. According to a party press release on Saturday, this he said during his telephonic address to flood relief programmes in seven cities of Sindh.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM believed in serving the people. “For MQM, politics does not mean getting plot and permit,” he added.

He said that his party would continue to help the masses no matter it was in or out of a government. “The party helps thousands of poor, widows and orphans every year,” he said.

MASS CONTACT: Dozens of corners meetings of the Muttahida were held in Liaquatabad, Gulberg, North Nazimabad, Jamshed Town, Saddar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Orangi and Baldia in connection with the mass contact campaign.

The meetings which were addressed by the members of the Rabita Committee, party senators, advisors, MPAs and MNAs.
