PESHAWAR, July 14: Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Muhammad Raffat Pasha said on Thursday that police would be equipped with all necessary facilities so that it was able to perform duties in an effective manner. He was talking to police officers here at police lines on the occasion of handing over keys of new motorcycles and walki talki sets to the district Peshawar police. The equipment have been purchased with the Devolution Transition Fund.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammd Habib-ur-Rehman, SSP Peshawar Muhammad Saeed Wazir and other police officers were also present on this occasion.

The PPO pointed out that all available resources were being utilized for provision of necessary vehicles, motorcycles and other equipments to the police to bring visible improvement in their performance.

He said police had to tighten noose around criminals and foil their sinister designs well in time by increasing its mobility and availability.

He expressed hope that after provision of new motorcycles to the police, street crimes would come down and quick response to any incident would be ensured.

Later, he handed over keys of 37 new motorcycles and 62 walki talki to SP City Muhammad Ali Gandapur, SP Cantt Muhammad Alam Shinwari and SP Rural Jaffar Khan. The motorcycles and walki talki have been arranged at a cost of Rs2886000 and Rs942400 respectively.—APP
