KARACHI, July 14: Six ships carrying machinery, steel coils and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Y.N. Sun, Hyundai Highway, to unload and load containers, Med Salvador, to unload billets, and Lalazar, to offload crude oil, were berthed after the departure of six.

The ships, which departed included APL Jeddah, Corin Thaikos, Captain Ayham, COS Lucky, Sea Baisen and Yaku Shima, while Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Sun, APL Orchid, Lykes Racer and Ever Guide are due to sail out on Friday.

The cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher where the total tonnage rose to 0.108m tons comprising 11,564 tons of export cargo and 96,037 tons of import tonnage, including 60,037 tons of dry cargo.

The following ships are due on Friday: Joharat Qatar, with 65,000 tons of crude oil, Sagamore, Itha Bhum and Germana, with containers, Dubai Gold, with machinery and East Tender, with steel coils.
