KARACHI: 10 bikes recovered, gang busted


KARACHI, July 13: The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) arrested three members of a motorcycle lifting gang and a purchaser of stolen and snatched motorcycles here on Wednesday. According to ACLC, a tip was received that a number of previous convicts in motorcycle snatching cases have acquired a rented premises in Raees goth near Hub. Inspector Ghazanfar Ali, SHO, ACLC ordered round-the-clock surveillance.

ACLC police, after reconnaissance, raided a hutment near Raees Goth and arrested Malik Sohail, leader of the gang, two accomplices Waqar Khan and Rustam Karim Khan besides Asghar Ali Rind who used to purchase snatched and stolen motorcycles.

Falak Sher, an accomplice, however fled, breaking the police cordon during the raid. The hunt to arrest him is on, SHO ACLC said.

Ten motorcycles bearing registration numbers of Karachi were also recovered from the suspects besides arms and ammunition.

During interrogation accused told investigators that the recovered motorcycles were snatched from Garden, Preedy, Korangi Industrial Area, SITE and PIB Colony areas.

The accused also confessed that they used to dump the snatched motorcycle at Raees Goth hide-out.—APP
