KARACHI, July 13: Hearing of a number of bail pleas filed by a former Sindh Minister, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, was put off till August 10 by a Sindh High Court bench comprising Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and an appellate bench here on Wednesday. Imtiaz Shaikh is facing charges of corruption, land-grabbing and a murder. Five bail pleas came up for hearing before Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed. Raja Qureshi, counsel for the applicant/accused, sought adjournment citing his personal engagements.

The bench allowed the request and extended interim pre-arrest bails of his client. It put off the hearing till August 10.

Another plea was filed on behalf of the ex-minister before an appellate bench comprising Justice Ataur Rahman and Justice Musheer Alam. The bench adjourned the hearing till August 10 ordering that the interim bail granted to the accused shall continue.—APP
