KARACHI, July 13: Two ships carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as six ships, Oocl Authority, Sealand Express, Bum Jo, Neera Naree, Nur Yanbu and Spar Carina, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, coal, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 53,687 tons comprising 30,057 tons of import cargo and 23,630 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Bum Jo, Nur Yanb, Oocl Authority and Sea Land Express left the port while Neera Naree was due to depart.

Two ships, Contship Tamarind and Green Park, were expected to take berths at QICT and EVT. Three ships, Patmos Senator, Shina and Keefan, carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil were due to arrive at the port.
