Suleman puts team into final

LAHORE, July 11: Two goals by Suleman enabled Nobles Club to move into the final of the Lahore district Inter-club hockey championship defeating Afghan Club 6-1 in the first semifinals at the National Hockey Stadium No.2 ground on Monday. Suleman gave the winners an early lead by scoring a field goal in the 6th minute. Usman doubled the lead three minutes later.

He slammed home his second goal in the 17th minute to increase the lead to 3-0. Shahid made it 4-0 in the 26th minute while Ijaz chipped in with one in the 33rd minute to make it 5-0.

Intikhab scored a goal in the dying minutes as the winners led the first half 6-0. The losers scored a consolation goal through Khawaja Bilal in the 54th minute.

Ittehad Club, Manga Mandi will take on Pak Heroes in the second semifinals on Tuesday.
