KARACHI, July 11: The Caretaker of the city government, Fazalur Rehman, has directed that development work on the Peoples Sports Complex should be completed as soon as possible. He said this on his visit to the Peoples Sports Complex the other day. Mr Fazal said international football matches would be held at the complex. He also visited development projects under way in different parts of the city. EDO Works and Services Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, District Officer Parks Liaquat Ali Khan and officers of the Works and Services Department accompanied him.

The caretaker said: “All facilities of international standard would be provided at the Peoples Sport Complex, and all uplift work would be completed within 15 days,” he said.

He further said the city government would provide all international facilities to players and spectators during the matches.

He directed that the pace of work to improve grass, jogging track, sewerage system and all other schemes in the sports complex be expedited. The DO Parks was directed to change the stadium’s old chairs and paint the remaining ones.

All work of the stadium was handed over by Mr Fazal to the Parks and Horticulture Department on the desire of EDO Works and Services.

The DO Parks and Horticulture assured Mr Fazal that all development work of the complex would be completed within 15 days.—PPI
