KARACHI: New land committee formed


KARACHI, July 11: The Caretaker of the city government, Fazalur Rehman, has formed a new committee for land commercialization, and abolished the old committee formed by the city district council. According to a KBCA press release, city district council officer would be chairman of the new committee while the KBCA chief, the MD KWSB, EDO (Revenue) city government, EDO (MPGO), EDO Community Development Department and DO Katchi Abadi would be its members.

The committee would work for implementing the commercialization policy in the city under relevant rules and regulations.

It is pertinent to mention that the facility of transferring residential plots into commercial ones on busy roads had been allowed keeping in view trade and business requirements.

In this connection, 20 city roads had already been commercialized so far, while commercial status to more roads was under consideration.—PPI
