KARACHI: Population Day programmes chalked out


KARACHI, July 10: The Sindh Population Welfare Department has chalked out programmes for the World Population Day 2005 with the theme of “Equality”. The day will be observed on Monday.

The activities to commence with a provincial convention will be followed by family welfare mela and musical concert the same day at a local hotel.

Sindh Minister for Population Welfare Syed Ali Bukhsh Shah will inaugurate the convention.

The theme “Equality” has been identified by the UNFPA to help realize the masses regarding importance of women and their rights to have equal opportunities in the fields of education, health, employment, politics and so forth.

The population welfare department has requested all NGOs and institutions to actively participate in the day-long programme organized by the ministry.—APP
