London blasts perpetrators enemies of humanity’

RAWALPINDI, July 9: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said perpetrators of London blasts were enemies of humanity who wanted to push the world into another crisis. Talking to reporters during a visit to the Arts College and Liaquat Memorial Hall here on Saturday, he reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the terrorist acts.

The whole Pakistani nation shares the grief of the British people, the minister said, adding that the horrendous attacks targeted innocent people irrespective of colour or creed.

Pakistan strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and the world has appreciated its key role in the fight against the menace, Sheikh Rashid said.

The entire nation supports President Pervez Musharraf’s policies and resolve to stamp out terrorism, he added.

To a question, Sheikh Rashid said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will visit Afghanistan on July 20 for talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

He said President Musharraf had talked to the Afghan president twice by phone recently and assured him that Pakistan wanted stability in Afghanistan and supported his government.

About the forthcoming local bodies elections, Sheikh Rashid said Pakistan Muslim League would fully contest the polls.

He said the polls would be held according to the schedule in a transparent manner. — APP
