KARACHI, July 7: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain termed Thursday’s terrorist attack in London ‘callous and barbaric’ designed to kill innocent people. In a statement faxed from the MQM’s international secretariat in London, Mr Hussain said that the attack deserved severest condemnation, and hoped that the perpetrators of this barbarism would be arrested and the roots from where the terrorism stemmed would be identified and wiped out at all costs.

Mr Hussain said that his party members, supporters and he himself, stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of the United Kingdom in their testing time and were ready to assist in the elimination of terrorism from the world, right from its roots. He also wrote a personal letter to the British prime minister on this national tragedy.
