Tea auction


NAIROBI, July 6: Prices for Kenyan tea ended mixed at this week’s auction despite a slight rise in the quality of some grades, traders said on Wednesday. Africa Tea Brokers in a market report said BP1s fetched $1.77-$3.25 per kg compared with $1.80-$2.49 at the last auction.

PF1s sold at $1.61-$2.54 compared with the last auction’s $1.60-$3.18.

Out of the total 109,014 packages offered, 12,320 were unsold compared with 12,718 unsold last week. Last week 109,492 packages were offered.
