Daanish misses German trip


ISLAMABAD, July 5: The Under-13 player Daanish Atlas has fractured his arm, forcing him to miss the Junior International Squash Championship being played in Cologne (Germany) from July 11.

His unfortunate ouster means that a seven-strong Pakistan squad, comprising five players and two officials, will now compete in the championship.

Daanish was hurt during a training session in his native city of Peshawar — just a couple of days before he was due to leave for Germany. The squad will leave for Germany on Wednesday.

Squad: Nasir Iqbal (Under-13), Nousherwan and Farhan Zaman (Under-15) and Shohaib Hassan and Waqar Mehboob (Under-17).—PPI
