KARACHI: Transporters threaten strike


KARACHI, July 5: The National Transport Ittehad (NTI) on Tuesday threatened to announce a wheal-jam strike on July 16 if the government did not withdraw the upward revision in POL prices till July 15. However, they said they had nothing to do with the July 21 strike call. Central leaders of the NTI, in a joint statement, strongly condemned the hike in petrol and diesel prices by Rs3.41 and Rs2.68 per litre respectively, saying it was unjustified, as there was no increase in oil prices in the international market.—PPI
