Mutawakkel’s brother killed in crossfire

QUETTA, July 4: The younger brother of Mullah Wakeel Ahmed Mutawakkel, a former foreign minister of Taliban government in Afghanistan, was killed here on Sunday night in an exchange of fire between two rival groups, police said on Monday. According to police sources, Jalil Ahmed was caught in a crossfire on Sariab Road on Sunday night. He suffered bullet injuries and was taken with other injured people to the Civil Hospital where he died.

“Ahmed was leaving for Karachi by night coach service of a local bus company when the firing erupted,” sources said.
