KARACHI, July 4: The damaged part of the Rashid Minhas Road in front of the Millennium Mall (old Drive-in cinema) is a permanent source of traffic jams especially during peak hours from 3.30pm to 9pm. The road from Sharea Faisal to Jauhar Moar was recently constructed and carpeted except for a 20-yard piece that was left out of the project. However, a patch work was done on this part as well, which was devastated by digging to lay a pipeline for some utility leaving the ditch partially filled.

Traffic coming from Sharea Faisal and Dalmia Road converge at the very point and all vehicles slow down to avoid damage due to the uneven road and ditches, which result in a traffic jam.

The Chairman of the Gulistan-i-Jauhar Resident Association, Atiq-ur-Rehman Shaikh, deplored that the conflict between two political forces in the city had created such bottlenecks, and citizens were suffering because of their efforts to fail each other.—APP
