Fuel surcharge

PARIS, July 4: Air France, following the lead of other airlines around the world, said on Monday it was hiking its fuel surcharge on passenger tickets to offset increased costs due to the high price of oil. From July 19, the fuel surcharge — the third since being introduced in May 2004 — will add one euro to tickets for domestic flights, two euros for medium-range services and four euros for long-haul trips, the company said in a statement.

The increase will stay in place until the price of oil drops below $50 a barrel for 30 consecutive days, it added.—AFP
