By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 2: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday again reiterated that all transfer and postings of government officers made by any provincial government have become ineffective after the announcement of the election schedule for the Local Government Elections 2005. Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Mohammad Dilshad on Saturday also explained that creation of new districts, Tehsils, Talukas, towns or any change in the composition of Union Councils after the announcement of the election schedule would be treated as void.

He said the acting chief election commissioner had also issued directives to the chief secretaries of the four provinces not to order transfers or postings of officers of the provincial governments.
