QUETTA, June 30: Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has said Baloch people will remain dissatisfied until the constitution was amended in accordance with their legitimate needs and wishes as it was the basic document. Speaking to newsmen in his native town of Dera Bugti on Thursday, he said that statements from quarters concerned were appearing in the media indicating that the government was interested only in insignificant and useless amendments in the constitution.

“The government wants to amend some unnecessary and useless clauses of the constitution and nothing more than that,” Nawab Bugti said and called for basic and fundamental amendments in the constitution that could help in resolving the issues of Balochistan.

Responding to a question about the report of the Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan, he said that it was taking a new shape every time which was creating doubts in the minds of the people.

He predicted, only crumbs, as a result of the constitutional package to be announced by the federal government.

He said that the silent majority of Baloch people could not be hoodwinked as they knew the realities on the ground well.

Mr Bugti said that Mushahid Hussain and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain were sincere and honest in trying to resolve the present crisis but they could not deliver the goods as both were powerless.

He advised Baloch politicians and political activists to make proposals for a constitution and take a final decision after discussing it at all levels.

ROCKETS: Four rockets were fired at a Frontier Corps checkpost in Kohlu that rocked the small township in the early hours of Thursday.

Unidentified armed men fired four rockets after short intervals from the Jandran mountains making the FC check post a target in Kohlu twonship. However, all four missed their target and exploded in an open area nearby.

No casualty was reported in the rocket attacks, official sources said.
