ISLAMABAD, June 30: The government has issued following details of the schedule of the Local Government Elections 2005: PHASE-I: In this phase, the polls will be held in the following 54 districts of the four provinces. Punjab: Gujranwala City District, Sialkot, Sargodha, Khushab, Multan City District, Lodhran, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, D.G Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahimyar Khan (17 districts).
Sindh: Karachi City District, Thatta, Tando Allahyar, Ghotki, Nausharo Feroz, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar and Tharparkar (17 districts).
NWFP: Peshawar City District, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, D.I Khan, Tank, Haripur and Buner (12 districts).
Balochistan: Khuzdar, Mastung, Kharan, Awaran, Pishin, Noshki, Sibi, Ziarat, Bolan, Nasirabad, Jaffarabad, Killa Saifullah, Barkhan and Gwadar (14 districts).
Category of elections: Union nazims, naib union nazims and members in union councils (Muslims men and women), peasants/workers (men and women), minority communities.
SCHEDULE: Nomination papers to be invited through a notification on July 16, will be filed from July 18-20. Objections by voters will be received by July 22, after publication of the notice of nominations on July 21. Scrutiny of papers will be carried out from July 23-24.
Appeals could be filed by July 25 and will be disposed of by July 27. The last day for withdrawal of candidature is July 28, and on July 29 list of contesting candidates will be published.
PHASE-II: In this phase, elections will be held in the 54 districts of the four provinces.
Punjab: Rawalpindi City District, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad City District, Jhang, T.T. Singh, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Lahore City District, Sheikhupura, Nankana, Kasur and Okara (18 districts).
Sindh: Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Dadu, Matiari, Jamshoro, Badin, Sukkur, Khairpur, Nawabshah, Larkana, Shahdad Kot and Shikarpur (12 districts).
Balochistan: Kalat, Washuk, Lasbela, Jhal Magsi, Quetta City District, Dera Bugti, Killa Abdullah, Chagai, Kohlu, Loralai, Zhob, Musakhel, Kech and Panjgur (14 districts).

PHASE- III: In this phase, the polls will be held in all districts/city districts of the four provinces.
Category of elections: (i) Zila nazim for a district /city district (ii) tehsil/taluka nazim, town nazim for each teshil/taluka or town, as the case may be, and (iii) members of Zila council and each teshil/taluka council or town council against the seats reserved for women, peasants/workers and minority communities.
SCHEDULE: Nomination papers to be invited through a notification on Sept 3, will be filed from Sept 5-7. Objections by voters will be received by Sept 9, after publication of the notice of nominations on Sept 8. Scrutiny of papers will be carried out on Sept 10.
Appeals could be filed by Sept 12, and will be disposed of by Sept 13.
The last day for withdrawal of candidature is Sept 14, and on Sept 29, list of contesting candidates will be published.
