KARACHI: New teaching methods stressed

KARACHI, June 30: The Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy, Dr Hamida Khuhro, emphasized the need of changes into teaching methods especially at the primary level to ensure character building of a child on strong basis. She was speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony of Master Teacher Trainers, arranged by the National Commission for Human Development, here at local hotel on Thursday.

Dr Khuhro said that we had to bring the basic changes in the teaching methodology being delivered at the lower level.

In this regard, she strongly recommended maximum activities and less textbook oriented work in the classrooms.

She acknowledged the role of teachers in this regard and said that the friendly behaviour of teachers could help increase a child’s interest in studies and schools. NCHD Sindh General Manager Kamran Sharif, Izhar Khan, and others also spoke.

Later, the minister distributed certificates among master teacher trainers.—PPI
