Hafiz helps Zone I win thriller
KARACHI, June 29: A brilliant century by the Man-of-the-Match opener Hafiz Asad and his first wicket stand worth 153 with Ainan Arif gave Karachi Zone I a thrilling one-wicket victory over Zone III in a high scoring PCB Under-19 match played on Wednesday.
Chasing Zone III’s mammoth 341 for victory, Zone I with Hafiz in tremendous form achieved the almost impossible task with four balls to spare. Hafiz struck 17 fours in his match-winning knock and in process faced 233 balls.
In the other match Zone II overcame Zone IV by 63 runs thanks to an all-round performance by Shamir Khattak who grabbed five wickets for 60 and scored a useful 31 batting lower down the order.
Quetta Region prevailed over Hyderabad Region by 84 runs in another match.
