Strike observed in Jam Saheb

NAWABSHAH, June 29: A complete strike was observed in Jam Saheb town on the call of the local action committee against the inclusion of UC Jam Saheb in Daur taluka, here on Wednesday. Led by the Naib Nazim UC Jam Saheb, Abdullah Shar, councillor Malik Rafiq and others, the rally began from Dargah Jam Dattar and ended at Jam Saheb-Nawabshah road.

The protesters blocked vehicular traffic and staged a sit-in on the road.

Later, they observed a token hunger strike at the bus stand. The protesters were joined by MPA Ahmed Ali Jalbani.

They said that bifurcation of Nawabshah taluka was carried out on political basis and UC Jam Saheb, which was far away, was also included in Daur taluka. They condemned the decision of Sindh government and demanded of the President, Gen Pervez Musharraf, to intervene in the matter and settle the issue.

KILLED: One Roshan Ali 35, was killed by his brother-in-law Juma Sabki in the jurisdiction of Mari-Jalbani police station, here on Wednesday. The accused escaped after committing the crime. The cause of the murder could not be ascertained. Police have registered the FIR.
